Days 1 & 2: Arrival in Baghdad & Baghdad City Tour
Day 1:
Upon arrival at Baghdad International Airport, guests are welcomed by our professional guide and transferred to the hotel for check-in. The day continues with an introductory city tour of Baghdad, offering a first glimpse into the capital’s rich modern history. The visit includes the iconic Martyr’s Monument, a powerful symbol of Iraq’s recent past with its striking architectural design, followed by Tahrir Square, the vibrant heart of the city. The tour also passes through Firdos Square; a landmark closely tied to key historical moments in Baghdad. Overnight stay in Baghdad.
Day 2:
This day is dedicated to discovering Baghdad’s cultural, historical, and spiritual treasures. The tour begins at Ziggurat of Aqar Quf, one of Iraq’s most impressive and well-preserved ancient monuments Dating back to the Kassite period home to some of the world’s most important artifacts from ancient Mesopotamia, reflecting the cradle of civilization. Guests then explore Al-Rashid Street, one of Baghdad’s oldest avenues, known for its heritage buildings and traditional cafés, before continuing to Al-Mutanabbi Street, the city’s famous cultural hub filled with bookshops, artists, and intellectual life. A relaxing boat ride along the Tigris River offers a unique perspective of Baghdad from the water. The day concludes with a visit to the Al-Kadhimiya Shrine, a revered holy site distinguished by its golden domes and deeply spiritual atmosphere. Days 3 & 4: Baghdad – Babylon – Karbala – Najaf – Baghdad
Day 3:
Journey continues south toward the legendary city of Babylon. Guests explore the ancient ruins, once one of the greatest cities of the ancient world, including the famous Lion of Ishtar, a symbol of power and protection. The visit also includes the nearby palace overlooking the ruins, offering panoramic views of the historical landscape. The day concludes in Karbala, where guests experience the moving atmosphere of the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas, two of the most significant sites in Islamic history, known for their stunning architecture and deep spiritual meaning. Overnight stay in Karbala.
Day 4:
The day begins with a visit to Al-Ukhaidir Fortress, an impressive example of early Islamic desert architecture and military design. The journey continues to Al-Uqayser Church, a rare and meaningful Christian heritage site reflecting Iraq’s long-standing religious diversity. Arrival in Najaf follows, where guests visit the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, one of the most sacred places in Islam, admired for its magnificent golden dome and spiritual importance. The tour also includes Wadi Al-Salam Cemetery, the largest cemetery in the world and a site of great religious and historical significance. In the evening, the group returns to Baghdad for an overnight stay.
Days 5 & 6: Baghdad – Samarra – Departure
Day 5:
A morning drive leads to Samarra, one of Iraq’s most important Islamic cities. Here, guests visit the Great Mosque of Samarra, once among the largest mosques in the Islamic world, and admire the famous Malwiya Minaret with its unique spiral design, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture. After the visit, the group returns to Baghdad for the final overnight stay.
